Shrimp Scampi with Mushrooms, Crab, Butter Mashed Potatoes, and Fresh Garlic Bread


Ingredients List / Shopping List


For the Shrimp Scampi:

- 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined

- 1/2 cup real crab meat

- 7 mushrooms, diced

- 1 stick salted butter (1/2 cup)

- 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped

- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

- Salt and pepper, to taste


For the Butter Mashed Potatoes:

- 8 large potatoes, peeled and quartered

- 1 stick salted butter (1/2 cup)

- 1 cup milk

- 2 cloves garlic (from scampi mixture)

- Salt and pepper, to taste


For the Garlic Bread:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 tbsp baking soda

- 1 packet self-rising yeast

- 1 cup warm water

- 1 tsp garlic powder

- 2 cloves fresh garlic, finely chopped

- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

- 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions


Prepare the Shrimp Scampi:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a cast-iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and parsley, sautéing until fragrant.

3. Add raw shrimp, ensuring they are coated in the garlic butter. Top with diced mushrooms and crab meat.

4. Season with salt and pepper, cover the skillet with foil, and bake for 35–40 minutes.


Make Butter Mashed Potatoes:

1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (15–20 minutes). Drain.

2. Mash the potatoes with butter, milk, and 2 cloves of garlic from the scampi mixture. Season with salt and pepper.


Make Garlic Bread:

1. Combine flour, baking soda, yeast, and warm water to form a dough. Knead until smooth.

2. Mix garlic powder, fresh garlic, and parsley into the dough. Let rest for 10 minutes.

3. Shape into garlic knots and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.

4. Brush melted butter over the knots before serving.


Assemble and Serve:
