The BEST Smash Burger Ever... PERIOD!!!

OK Guys i made this for my family for Iftar and WE DEMOLISHED It. I've ben traveling eating alot of burgers and NOTHING beat this one, I promise


The Ultimate Halal Smash Burger & Crispy Potato Fries Recipe 🍔🍟



Ingredients


For the Smash Burgers:

- 1.5 lb 100% lean Halal beef (makes about 6 burgers)

- **Salt & pepper** to taste

- **Romaine lettuce**, washed and dried

- **Caramelized onions** (recipe below)

- **Buns of your choice**

- **Butter** (for toasting buns)


For the Burger Sauce:

- 2 tbsp **ketchup**

- 1 tbsp **relish**

- 2 tbsp **mayo**

- 1 tsp **mustard**

- Salt & pepper** to taste


For the Caramelized Onions:

- 1 **large onion**, thinly sliced

- 1 tbsp **butter**

- 1 tbsp **olive oil**


For the Crispy Potato Fries:

- -5-8 large Russet potatoes**, cut into thick fries

- **Salt & pepper** to taste

- 2 tbsp **flour**

- **Ice water** (for chilling potatoes)

- **Oil** for frying

Instructions


Step 1: Prep the Beef

1. Roll the **Halal beef** into round balls (about 2 oz each).

2. Cover and refrigerate for at least **30 minutes** to keep them firm.


Step 2: Make the Burger Sauce

1. In a small bowl, mix together **ketchup, relish, mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper**.

2. Stir well and refrigerate until ready to use.


Step 3: Caramelize the Onions

1. Heat a skillet over **medium-low heat** and add **butter and olive oil**.

2. Add **thinly sliced onions**, stirring occasionally.

3. Cook for **15-20 minutes** until the onions turn golden brown and soft. Set aside.


Step 4: Cook the Smash Burgers

1. Heat a **cast iron skillet** over **high heat** until smoking hot.

2. Place a **beef ball** onto the skillet and immediately **smash it flat** using a spatula.

3. Season with **salt and pepper**.

4. Cook for **3 minutes** until the edges get crispy, then flip and cook for another **3 minutes**.

5. Remove and let them rest.


Step 5: Make the Crispy Fries

1. Cut **Russet potatoes** into large fries and soak them in **ice water** for at least **30 minutes** (this removes excess starch).

2. Drain, pat dry, and **lightly coat with flour**.

3. Heat oil to **375°F (190°C)** and fry for **10-12 minutes**, or until golden brown.

4. Remove, season with **salt and pepper**, and set aside.


Step 6: Toast the Buns

1. Spread **butter** on the inside of the buns.

2. Broil in the oven for **1-2 minutes** (watch carefully to avoid burning).


Step 7: Assemble the Burger

1. Spread **burger sauce** on both buns.

2. Add **romaine lettuce** on the bottom bun.

3. Stack the **smash burger patty** on top.

4. Add **caramelized onions** and top with the bun.


Step 8: Serve & Enjoy!

- Serve hot with your crispy potato fries on the side.
