They Ask Me What I’m Reading: My Favorite Books for Growth + Branding

One of my favorite weekly rituals is taking my kids to the bookstore. It’s free, it’s fun, and it gives them a chance to explore, pick out a book they love, and start building a relationship with reading. By the time we leave, they’re excited to dive into their new story for the week—and honestly, it’s just a win-win all around.

While I’m there for them, I usually wander through the aisles myself and think about the books that have had the biggest impact on me as a businesswoman, creative, and brand strategist. Over the years, a few titles have stood out as must-reads—the books I often recommend to my clients who are pivoting, rebranding, or simply looking to level up in their personal and professional lives.

📚 My Top Book Recommendations

1. The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley & William D. Danko

This book shifted the way I look at money. It’s full of statistics and real-world insights into how millionaires actually live—and spoiler: it’s usually not flashy. It’s about budgeting wisely, spending intentionally, and building sustainable wealth.

2. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene

Robert Greene is one of my favorite authors, and Power is a classic. It teaches mindset shifts that will completely change how you navigate business and life. Fun fact: this book is so influential it’s banned in prisons, which tells you just how potent the lessons are.

3. Mastery by Robert Greene

Another essential by Greene, Mastery digs deep into what it means to become exceptional in your field. It’s about honing your craft, elevating your skills, and committing to the process of becoming a master in your niche.

4. The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason

If you loved The Alchemist, you’ll enjoy this one. It’s written in a storytelling style but packed with timeless success gems. It’s quick to read, but the lessons stay with you long after you put it down.

5. The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

A beautiful guide for creatives, this book teaches you how to block out the noise and tap into your true artistry. It’s a reminder that your creativity isn’t just a skill—it’s a calling.

6. One Million Followers by Brendan Kane

For anyone serious about growing their online presence, this is a goldmine. Kane breaks down the steps to cultivate community, create content that resonates, and engage authentically—skills that are crucial for building a personal brand in today’s world.

7. Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger

Ever wonder why certain brands, ideas, or content go viral? This book explores the psychology of “contagious” marketing and how to create authentic, magnetic business strategies that people want to be part of.

Why These Books Matter

These books aren’t just for entrepreneurs—they’re for anyone looking to shift, grow, or reimagine what’s possible. Whether it’s mastering your money, stepping into your power, or learning how to amplify your voice online, each one gives you a piece of the puzzle.

As someone who works daily with women ready to pivot or rebrand, I believe in arming yourself with knowledge. Books are one of the most accessible (and affordable) ways to do that.

Your Turn

Have you read any of these? Do you have a favorite book that shaped your business or personal growth journey? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to add it to my list for our next bookstore trip.

Until then, here’s your reminder: make time for learning, for yourself, and for your evolution. Because you are the main thing....
